Service Trip 2018: India

Help Us Eradicate Hunger for 30,000 People!

With each service project we do with CHIME IN, the Change Is Me, International, we discover more and more of the joy of giving back…and it becomes more and more contagious. This is why this year we’ve been called to take our service to a higher level.

I hope you will take just a few minutes to read about an incredible project we are working on and how you can help make a difference too. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and share about it with your friends and family!

Where: Mount Abu, in the Aravalli mountain ranges of Rajasthan, India (5,000 feet above sea level, one of the most impoverished areas in all of India)

When: March 1-12th, 2018

What: We will work with the Brahma Kumaris, serving in their solar kitchen to help feed 30,000 people, three meals a day. This technology just became available in the last year, and the hope is that it can be replicated. Here’s a video (taken before the project was complete—this will give you a sense of the solar power. Additionally, we will be serving in a nearby hospital, and then learning about their special “Waste Management System” and how they transform what we think of as “trash” into fuel.

Who: Youth Ambassadors around the world will join in service in partnership with the Brahma Kumaris (a spiritual organization based on meditation principles that has over 5000 centers in more than 80 countries). We will be staying at their ashram at the World Spiritual University.

How you can help:

Our overall fundraising goal is $30,000.00. The money raised will be donated to the solar kitchen, as well as to airfare, food, and accommodations. If you are inspired, here are the following ways you can be the change:

Make a donation. Your donations will contribute toward keeping solar kitchen running, to ensure that more than 30,000 people have meals to eat every day.

As Gandhi said, “We must BE THE CHANGE we wish to see in the world!”
Thank YOU for being the change!
