CHIME IN (The Change Is Me International) Curriculum for Youth Ambassador Program

Goal:

The main purpose of CHIME IN’s Youth Ambassador Program is to unite the “movers and shakers” of the world, and to have these change makers critically think about how to create a sustainable and positive environment for generations to come. This program encourages young people to create projects in their communities that tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Program Duration: 1 year (12 months)
Scope of Commitment:

  1. Conference Calls
    1. Participate in bi-monthly conference calls (60 minutes on Saturdays)
    2. Complete required reading and homework (be willing and able to participate in group discussion) (I think you should list the books here)
    3. Lead one of our bi-monthly calls by presenting your Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and your project (for guidelines and structure: http://chimein.org/projects/)
    4. Contribute regularly to our on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts), i.e. once per week
    1. Be willing to be one of Featured Youth Ambassador of the month
  1. Invite a guest speaker/mentor who has expertise in the area of your SDG to be featured on a call
  2. Youth Ambassador Project
    1. Select a SDG that you feel passionate about
    1. Write a 1-2 page project proposal that outlines the who, what, where, when, and why of what you intend to do.
    2. Keep your selected SDG at the heart of your project
    3. Write a summary about the culmination of your project’s success and your experience
    4. Present your project on one of our conference calls
  1. Social Media
    1. For one month during your term, you will be CHIME IN’s featured Youth Ambassador of the month. During this time you will be asked to
      1. – Take the lead regarding contributing to our on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts)
    2. Post weekly (at least)
      1. – Introduction (bio and photo)
      2. – Project idea (links to crowdfunding; project proposal)
  • – Inspiring links/videos
  1. Document project through videos and pictures
  2. Support Received
    1. Check in calls as needed with Co-Founders and Board Members
    2. Access to numerous mentors regarding topic of interest

Structure of Conference Calls

  1. Introduction/Mediation
  2. General information about trips/check ins
  3. Youth Ambassador presentation of SDG and personal project
    1. Includes hero’s journey that correlates with SDG
  4. Guest Speaker/interactive learning stretch
  5. Discussion about readings/homework
  6. Closing remarks/Music Minute
